As a Chartered Marketer I work directly with small and creative organisations, at pre-start, start-up and ongoing SME stages. My clients include fashion designers, architects, interior designers, milliners, jewellers, artists, and printmakers. I also work in partnership with non-profit business development organisations to support such clients.
I help my clients to identify the areas that they need to develop and work on. Together, we develop realistic and achievable marketing and business objectives and strategies. This might be around who the customer base is, what the sales plan and calendar is, what kind of social media and digital strategy to have, or how to do a one-year marketing plan. Often, it is about recognising business problems and helping my clients reach do-able marketing based solutions.
Many of the clients I work with feel they have little marketing or business experience and we work together one step at a time. And as they always have little time or budget, so the solutions are tailored to fit in with what the client can manage.
On my clients’ behalf, I also undertake research, produce marketing audits, and develop digital strategy or traditional communications strategies, and give structure for their own project management.
I also deliver in-house programmes of business development progressive one-to-ones for organisations that support entrepreneurs within the creative and fashion industries.
